In remote monitoring, we can provide simple point-to-point, wired or wireless, system as well as highly sophisticated functions-rich telemetry systems that utilises state-of-the-art technologies in communication, Remote Terminal Units, Programmable Logic Controllers and SCADA software.
Unique Selling Points
The Unique Selling Points of the systems that we provide are:
* Platform independent application software – the IEC81131-3 compliant Straton application software for Controllers can run on a number of hardware platforms from different manufacturers, with or without integrated touch panels. This enables us to offer our clients tailor-made solutions for different situations using one programming environment. Controller manufacturers that support the Straton soft PLC are Beckhoff, Wago, Vipa and Brodersen.
* Event-driven TCP/IP communication- controller to controller communication and controllers to SCADA communication are event-driven whenever TCP/IP communication protocol is employed. This means extended range for licence-free radio system and ideal for GPRS based system as data is only transmitted when the pre-defined hysteresis limit is exceeded.
* Fully integrated solution – the zenon SCADA and the Straton Controller application software is fully integrated. This means users only have to perform the creation of I/O tags once for the I/O tags to be available for the Controller application program as well as the SCADA Visualisation Design Studio via the integrated editing/programming environment.
* Fully Object Oriented SCADA configuration – the zenon SCADA software is so powerful that projects can be drag and drop into another project to create an integrated project. The I/O tags, pictures, functions etc from other projects can then be available to the integrated project.
* Common SDK for the modems - The eDevice modems are entirely customizable and the software development kit (SDK) that is supplied with the modem allows scripts to be created and embedded in an interpreted language. As socket modems are used, the same script can be used for different type of socket modems (PSTN, GSM/GPRS or LAN).
* Touch Panel with integrated PLC, fieldbus interfaces and HMI functions - The operator touch panels is capable of running the zenon HMI software which is a subset of the zenon SCADA software. With the integrated inputs and outputs it constitutes a fully operative small controller. The PLC is based on SPEED7 technology and, in terms of performance, equivalent to the CPU 414 from Siemens. Furthermore, the I/Os can be expanded by mounting, on the back of the unit, the standard input and output modules from the VIPA System 100V and 200V. Profibus and CAN are standard on larger panels.
